The Chief Executive of Forestry Commission Mr. John Allotey has embarked on an official tour to the Volta Region to create awareness on the Green Ghana Project which will take place on the 11th June 2021, and also inspect and check the readiness of the Region towards the Project.
A collaboration between the Ministry of Lands & Natural Resources and the Forestry Commission, the Green Ghana Project seeks to see to the planting of 5 million trees nationwide in a day and nurture them to maturity.
Mr. Allotey used the opportunity to call on the Regional Minister Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, the Asogli Traditional Council and the Municipal Chief Executive of Ketu South Hon. Elliot Edem Agbenorwu to brief them on the Project and also solicit for their support in reaching the set target of two hundred thousand trees allocated to the Region.
